Pretty much a straight wrestler, as represented by his wrestling practice shorts worn for this fight, Chris David shows how superior bjj and kick-boxing will not guarantee a win against an opponent who lacks the two. Of course, by now, 4 years later, Chris David is well versed in the mixtures of skills needed.
This event is Total Combat IV (Total Combat 4) and takes place on the Tijuana strip in a club, where local favorite, Yahir Reyes, fighting out of Reyes Gym, Tijuana takes on Chris David, the Nor-Cal Bandit. Yahir Reyes is only about 19, while Chris David is about 21. Those few years definately make a difference when it comes to experience, though Chris David is less versed in MIXED martial Arts, he was a solid college level wrestler and it shows in his ground control and strikes when in a dominant wrestling position.
