Can you get Hepatitis C from a DIY tattoo gun?

The DIY needle was never used on another person so no blood has ever touched it, is there any other infection/disease you can get from it?

If it is brand new and clean then no. But instead of using that kind of needle and doing it yourself, go pay to get it done. Home made tattoos and guns are crap

Did the needle come from a sterilized package? I don't mean sterilized as in rubbing alcohol, peroxide, or burning. I mean it has been sterilized in an autoclave.
If no, then there is a chance of getting hepatitis from a DIY tattoo needle.

The Hepatitis Advocate Newletter just posted that ANYONE with a tattoo should get tested. I'm not certain what a DIY gun is..but better safe than sorry
